GAYO as part of its commitment to promote renewable energy penetration in Africa and prepare the workforce needed for the green transition is partnering with the EU and other key organizations in Africa to implement the RePower Project: A modular plug-and-play (PnP) compatible microgrid plants with enhanced renewable energy storage (BESS) and energy management systems (EMS). RePower is focused on reducing drastically the waiting time for energy extension to off-grid rural communities in Madagascar, Senegal, Niger, and a replication in Ghana.

Throughout our work, we have witnessed how the transition to new economies, technologies, and approaches to climate solutions can negatively impact local communities. Our Energy and Just Transition Program seeks to ensure transitions are just, and are rooted in the principles of ensuring equitable climate action.
